The Release Date of Genshin Impact 1.3
Genshin Impact 1.3 update is scheduled to be released in February 2021. According to Pro Game Guides, it will be released exactly on February 3rd, 2021. The update will kick off the Lantern Rite Festival set of quests. From the official post of miHoYo from the production team, they are trying to manage a consistent update schedule every week.

The Official Changes in 1.3 Update
Based on the Developer Discussions of miHoYo, here are the official changes that will be done in Genshin Impact version 1.3.
- There will be pre-installing to mobile devices before the 1.3 update.
- You are allowed to increase or decrease the amount of materials which are consumed at a time.
- There will be controller support for iOS devices with OS iOS 14 or higher.
- There is material conversation to 1.3.
- Original Resin will not be required in all events in 1.3.
- To have Fragile Resin as rewards, The Battle Pass will be adjusted from 1.3 onwards.
- The bugs are fixed.
New Characters in Genshin Impact 1.3 Update
There will be some new characters and those are include:
- Xiao
This character is a 5 star Anemo user who wields a polearm. It seems that he is quite polite, reserved and logical. It is shown after hearing about the death of Rex Lapis and he stays calm and rethinks his actions.
- Hu Tao
This character is a 5 star Pyro user who wields a polearm. There is not much information about her, but a lot of characters in the game talk that they got a negative impression of her. Usually, she is described as a cheeky prankster who always makes trouble. The character stories of Qiqi says that she has a punch-able face because of the insistence of Hu Tao on burying the zombie.
It is not sure whether there will be any new 4 star characters with Xiao and Hu Tao. If they continue the theme, then they began with Albedo and Ganyu.
Zongli Buff in Genshin Impact 1.3 Update
MiHoYo tries to listen to the feedback of the player about Zhongli. The 5 star character that they have taken brought up back to 1.3 beta testing. So, there are able to ultimately buff the character. Zhongli was a sought after character when he was first revealed for 1.1. The players really want him to be the best 5 star character that he can be. There will be some changes which come to Zhongli such as adjustments to passive talent dominance of earth and the adjustment to dominus Lapidis’ Holding Mode.
Geo Buff in Genshin Impact 1.3 Update
Also, due to feedback which miHoYo got about Zhongli, they decided that the users of Geo needed a little boost. There are the adjustments to Geo Resonance Enduring Rock and the adjustments to Geo Shield Balance.
The New Events in 1.3 Update
The main part of 1.3 is the Lantern Rite Festival. miHoYo has released a website for the Lantern Rite Festival. There, players can write a heartfelt message and send it up into the sky. But, because of the sheer number of users doing it, the ability to write the messages was deleted.
Nevertheless, according to AE Entropy, in this event, there will be Tower Defense mechanics.
New Boss in 1.3 Update
Besides having new characters and new events, there will also be a new boss in Genshin Impact 1.3 Update. It seems that the boss is an ancient version of the Geovishap. There are pictures of this boss which have been released. They are in Chinese, but the comments of Twitter have translated what the images say.
The new boss can drop a new material type for Ascension level of Xiao and Hu Tao. The name of the material is Juvenile Jade and the type of it is elemental stone. Where is the location of the new boss? It will be between Nantianmen and Tianqui Valley.
New Weapons in 1.3 Update
You must be excited because there will be new weapons as well. Xiao and Hu Tao are polearm users, so they will come with signature weapons.
- Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
On hit, it will be able to increase attack by 3.2% for 6 seconds. The max stack is 7 and the effect of it can happen only once every 0.3 seconds. In possession of the maximum number of stacks, the damage dealt is increased by 12%.
- Staff of Homa
This polearm is aimed for Hu Tao. The HP will be increased by 20%. Besides, it provides an Attack Bonus which is based on 0.8% of the max HP of the wielder. The attack will be increased by an additional 1% of max HP, if the HP of the wielder is less than 50%.
- Primordial Jade Weapons
It is also leaked that a new Jade set will come in 1.3 Update and there will be 5 weapons. Four of them are listed below.
- Primordial Jade Vista (Bow) – 5 Star
Passive: The HP will be increased by 20% and it provides an attack bonus which is based on 1.2% of the max HP of the wielder.
- Primordial Jade Greatsword – 5 Star
Passive: The HP will be increased by 20% and it provides an attack bonus which is based on 1.2% of the Max HP of the wielder.
- Primordial Jade Cutter (Sword) – 5 Star
Passive: The HP will be increased by 20% and it provides an attack bonus which is based on 1.2% of the Max HP of the wielder.
- Primordial Jade Regalia – 5 Star
Passive: The HP will be increased by 20% and it provides an attack bonus which is based on 1.2% of the max HP of the wielder.
