In the game called Genshin Impact, melt is included as one of the Elemental Reactions. In order to trigger melt in Genshin Impact, you will have to hit Cyro with a Pyro element. Aside from that, you can also do the other way around. If you compare to overload, it is different because it will not add separate elemental reaction damage. Instead of doing so, the current elemental attack damage will be multiplied, depending on the sequence of elemental status counters.
When you try to apply a Cryo skill on a monster with a Pyro elemental status corner, your Cryo damage will be multiplied by 1.5 times. On the other hand, when a Pyro skill is applied on a monster with Cryo element status, your attack will be multiplied by 2 times.
There are a few things that affect this elemental reaction. Those include the attack of the character, elemental mastery and the other damage calculations such as critical damage. It is true that if the critical rate triggers during the elemental attack, it will also be multiplied.
When we talk about theory, this thing can cause reaction damage compared to overload once the attack stats reach a specific threshold. The weakness of it is the support characters, which usually have attacks stats that are lower. It will cause elemental reaction damage.
About Elemental Reaction
In the game known as Genshin Impact, when two elements make contact with each other, the elemental reaction can be triggered. The elemental reaction that is triggered depends on the element. It is possible to cause either an added burst damage bonus, negative buffs, area of effect damage or damage over time.
Slimes and some other monsters already have built in elements and pulling out an elemental skill will trigger a reaction instantly. Apart from that, there are also a few monsters that have no element and a reaction can be trigged forcefully by throwing two different elements sequentially.
Some other Elemental Reactions
- Overloaded
Overloaded happens when hitting Pyro with an Electro element or the other way around. An additional AoE Pyro damage will be created on the top of the real Cryo or Pyro damage you just created. It will also get rid of small opponents including slimes or Hilichurls.
The damage that is caused by it is only affected by the Elemental Mastery of your character, the level of the character, and the elemental resistance of the opponent. Besides, overload damage ignores the defense of the target, level, or defensive buffs.
Accordingly, overload gives a consistent and reliable damage result for your team without seeing the weapon or artifacts of your character. Everything is fine as long as the level is high enough.
- Electro charged
When you hit Hydro with an Electro element or vice versa, electro charge can occur. Each opponent that is affected by it will get Electro damage each second. Furthermore, it will also spread to opponents that is close to it with Hydro status.
There is nothing to worry too much because this effect will only last for 1 second due to the fact it will consume the elemental status counter. The only exception is when the opponent is standing on a body of water, owns an innate Hydro element such as water slimed or it is raining.
Electro charging also has a specific sequence. The effect that has been explained above will trigger if Electro is applied on a Hydro affected monster. However, if the Electro elemental skill is applied first, it means you will have to follow it up with Hydro. Be prepared because you will deal electro charged damage immediately. Apparently, the elemental status counter for both Electro and Hydro will not go anywhere until the next damage tick.
On the other words, there is a window of an opening where both hydro and element reaction are related to electro when using another element other than hydro or electro. If within 1 second you do not attack using another element, the original effect will be triggered (Electro to Hydro) and then take the elemental status counter.
- Superconduct
Superconduct is the reaction when you hit Cyro with an Electro element or vice versa. The additional Physical AoE Damage can be created from the epicenter of the superconductor on the top of the elemental damage. Next, the superconductor will also have a 40% physical resistance reduction debuff for 9 seconds.
Just like the first elemental reaction, overload, superconduct ignores the level, defense or defensive buffs of the target. And the thing caused by it depends on the level, elemental mastery of the caster and the elemental resistance of the monster.
It is literally the best for the characters that use the normal attacks the most.
- Vaporize
The reaction named vaporize is when you hit Hydro with a Pyro elemental skill or the other way around. Just like Melt, your elemental attack damage will be multiplied depending on the sequence of elemental status counters.
If a Pyro elemental skill is applied on a monster with a Hydro elemental status corner, your Pyro damage will be multiplied by 1.5 times. As the contrary, your attack will be multiplied by 2 if a Hydro is applied to Pyro.
There are some other things that influence the damage, including the attack, elemental mastery and critical damage of your character if it triggered during the element skill. This damage also has some advantages and disadvantages, just like melt.
- Frozen
Frozen happens when you hit Hydro with a Cryo element and vice versa. As you can guess from the name, it can freeze the opponent. Actually, it does not apply any additional damage, at least directly.
However, if the frozen opponent with heavy attacks from claymores or geo skills, a Shattered damage will be triggered that will add physical damage on top of the real damage.
Rather than depend on the physical attack stat, shatter depends on the level and the elemental mastery stat of your character. It also ignores the level, defense, and buffs of the opponent.
