Light Upon the Sea Description
Lantern Rite is still ongoing. With the aid of Xiao, Kaeya, and Millelith, you have already foiled a plot which has left you not knowing whether to laugh or cry, and have succeeded in taking the foolish criminal behind it to justice and handing them over to Millelith. Today, you prepare to go to Wangshu Inn to report the results of the matter to Xiao, as you agreed.
Light Upon the Sea Quest Release Date
Light Upon the Sea is a new archaeon quest added on February 18th at 04:00. It is immediately prompted once the start date goes live. Light Upon the Sea will end on February 28th at 03:59 (Server Time). Make sure that you do not miss this Light Upon the Sea quest. If you are able to complete this Light Upon the Sea quest, then you will be able to get some rewards.

Go back to Wangshu Inn landmark and report back to Xiao
Firstly, you have to go back to Wangshu Inn landmark. Then, you have to report back to Xiao on the balcony. For your information, Wangshu Inn is a landmark within Dihua Marsh, Liyue, built upon a massive stone pillar.
Talk to Xiao
Please talk to Xiao. For your information, Xiao is an Adeptus. He is the only Five Yakshas member dispatched by Morax. Currently, he lives in Wangshu Inn, where he secludes himself from the crowds and human interactions. Also, Xiao was available as a playable character during the second Closed Beta Test. He was released on the Invitation to Mundane Life event on February 3rd 2021.
Talk to Verr Goldet
Now, you have to talk to Verr Goldet to figure out a way to make Xiao come to the Festival. Once you meet with Xiao you are going to discuss what transpired in the previous mission. After this discussion, you will be able to receive a new quest step to talk to Verr Goldet. For your information, Verr Goldet is an NPC discovered in Wangshu Inn at Dihua Marsh, Liyue. She is the owner of the inn. She is very insistent about it. Also, she sells the inn’s dishes and recipes. Verr Goldet is involved in the Archon Quest “Wangshu”. Her dialogue is going to change slightly after completing the quest. Please head downstairs and speak to her at the front desk. The duo at the desk will suggest bringing the Lantern Rite to Xiao. You and Paimon agree to help.
Discover a Good Spot for a Stall (looking for a suitable spot)
After speaking to the duo you have to find out a spot for a stall. You will need to scope out a few spots before you settle on the one you want. The first suitable spot is located on the ground level beneath Wangshu Inn, exactly next to the stairs leading the elevator. Please approach the quest light and interact with it. Then, you have to leave this spot and head over to the spot in the eating area. You are able to interact with the quest light. Just leave this spot and drop down to the walkway below. Do not forget to interact with the quest light here to trigger a cutscene with Huai’an. In this cutscene Huai’an is going to set up the stall.
Talk to Xiao
The next step that you have to do is to head back up to the top of the inn and speak to Xiao. As we said before that Xiao was available as a playable character during the second Closed Beta Test. This will trigger an interaction with Xiao who sees you inviting him to the Lantern Rite. Xiao is going to accept your invitation and also will head to the stall down below.
Dine with Xiao
You have to head down to the stall below and then approach the quest light next to the table. This will be able to trigger an interaction with Xiao who sees you two feast. After the feast you are going to invite Xiao to accompany you on the way to Liyue Harbor. Xiao reluctantly accepts you invitation that triggers the next Light Upon the Sea quest step.
Go to Liyue Harbor and Watch Cutscene
The last step, you have to walk or fast travel your way to the fast travel point just north of Liyue Harbor on the hill overlooking the city. Once you reach this location you are going to speak to Xiao again. After this interaction make your way down to Liyue Harbor. Then, go to the base of the stairs to trigger a cutscene of the Lantern Rite celebration.
After this cutscene ends you are going to have completed the Light Upon the Sea mission. Completing this mission will unlock access to the Lantern Rite Tales III collection. These requests are able to be completed to obtain rewards. Also, you are going to receive the quest rewards from completing this mission.
