Yanfei seems to be a new four-star character. She is a legal expert from Liyue who will deal big Pyro damage thanks to the stacking effect her normal attacks trigger. Yanfei’s banner will take place until at least in late April or early May. Meanwhile, you are able to start farming some of her ascension materials that we will share below.
Genshin Impact Yanfei: An overview
According to Genshin Impact fan website Honey Hunter, her in-game description says that Yanfei is a legal advisor in Liyue Harbor. Also, it notes that she is considered to have mixed blood which containing elements of an illuminated beast. This could mean that she is another half-human and half-Adeptus character like Ganyu or that she is half of some unknown species.
The attacks of Yanfei are said to come with her custom terms and conditions condemning her opponents to pain and death. Yanfei’s attack is 20, a lower than the two five-star catalyst users. Her defense is 49, making her a bit weaker than Sucrose and Lisa.
Yanfei’s Attacks and Abilities
- Normal attacks: Seal of Approval
- Normal attack: Shoots fireballs which deal 3 counts of Pyro damage. Normal attacks generate Scarlet Seals upon hitting opponents. Yanfei will be able to hold up to three Scarlet Seals, and getting a new Scarlet Seal increases how long the others remain active. Scarlet Seals will decrease Yanfei’s stamina consumption.
- Charged attack: Makes AoE Pyro damage by consuming stamina and all active Scarlet Seals. More Scarlet Seals will increase the attack’s range and power.
- Plunging attack: Yanfei dives down and makes AoE Pyro damage to all nearby opponents.
- Elemental Skill: Signed Edict
Yanfei blisters her opponents with an AoE Pyro attack. If the attack connects, it grants Yanfei 3 Scarlet Seals immediately.
- Elemental Burst: Done Deal
Yanfei sends a spurt of the flames to nearby opponents, causing AoE Pyro damage, giving 3 Scarlet Seals, and also applying the Brilliance status to her. The Brilliance will give a Scarlet Seal for Yanfei at regular intervals. Aside from that, it will boost the power of her charged attack.
- Passives
- Encyclopaedia Expertise: This will show nearby Liyue resources on the mini map.
- Proviso: Consuming a Scarlet Seal increases Yanfei’s Pyro damage by 5 percent for six seconds, though the effect does not stack.
- Xiezhi’s Eye: Critical hits from Yanfei’s charged attack can deal extra Pyro AoE damage equal to 80 percent of Yanfei’s attack, and it counts as charged attack damage.
Yanfei’s Constellations
- The Law Knows No Kindness
During a charged attack, each active Scarlet Seal will reduce the required stamina by 10 percent and increases Yanfei’s resistance to interruption.
- Right of Final Interpretation
Increases Yanfei’s charged critical rate by 20 percent against opponents with less than 50 percent HP.
- Samadhi Fire-Forged
This will increase Signed Edict’s level by 3 with a maximum level of 15.
- Supreme Amnesty
Using Done Deal makes a shield that absorbs up to damage equal to 75 percent of Yanfei’s max HP for 15 seconds. The shield absorbs Pyro damage 250 percent more effectively.
- Legal Cheat Sheet
Can increase Done Deal’s level by 3 with a maximum level of 15.
- Extra Clause
Can increase Yanfei’s maximum number of Scarlet Seals by one.
Yanfei’s character Ascension materials
Yanfei’s character Ascension materials will require some effort. You are going to need the usual Pyro materials in the Agnidus Agate series, dropped from Pyro Regisvine, plus Juvenile Jade from Primo Geovishap fights. You are only able to get the items from the Treasure Hoarder family by fighting Treasure Hoarders and your best bet of running into them is around Mt. Tianheng in Liyue and east of Luhua Pool, in Liyue as well.
Noctilous Jade is a bit different. You are able to purchase it from Shito in Liyue Harbor near the Alchemy stall, or you are able to mine it from areas around Mingyun Village or around Liyue’s western border.

Yanfei Talent Ascension materials
You will need Treasure Hoarder items for Yanfei’s talent Ascension materials, along with Teachings of Gold-series items obtainable in Taishan Mansion on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Taishan Mansion is near Jueyun Karst in Liyue. Yanfei’s other talent ascension material is a drop from an as-yet unknown boss.
